Over my 25+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from some good leaders. I took careful notice of the traits and practices that made them successful. As I grew in my own responsibilities, I started to understand my own strengths and naturally shaped my style to reflect the best of what I observed along the way. It takes ongoing reflection to understand what works best and what may need adjusting. Perhaps the greatest thing I learned is that everyone you have to lead or engage with is different and you, as the leader, have a lot of the burden to adjust (i.e., Situational Leadership).
