I recently came across a Linked post, "21 ways to kill the toxic ego that will destroy your life". Item 3 on the list was "Choose purpose over passion", and it made me think.
While Passion can be a catalyst, Purpose can act as a long-term sustainer to keep you going each day. Purpose is the answer for "why am I doing this?" It is the constant drive to keep going when times are tough and the ideal situation proves elusive. Purpose allows you to keep building one block and one day at a time when the passion is lower.
Purpose can be found in small and large accomplishments, the contributions you make in your work, community, family, or the world, and the help and support you provide others.
So while you work to align your Passion and Purpose into something that is provides great satisfaction, take pride in the Purpose(s) you serve along the way.
